Kirchleitn Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

A particularly impressive place in Berchtesgaden is the Kirchleitn chapel above the Weinfeld. Since it was built, the chapel has become a symbol of Berchtesgaden. The chapel with the view over the Berchtesgaden market to the Watzmann opposite is one of the most photographed motifs in all of Bavaria.

Because rain was forecast, we actually just wanted to stroll around Berchtesgaden.
But then, luckily, we discovered the Brine Pipeline Trail. A very worthwhile trail with beautiful views of Berchtesgaden and the Watzmann.
The "Haus der Berge" (House of the Mountains) is also very worthwhile. A lot is offered here for a small entrance fee. It's spectacular when, after the …

Originally we wanted to follow the flyer published by the Berchtesgaden tourist office, but then we got hungry after 3/4 of the way.

So we took a shortcut towards the center via the Aussegnungsweg.

Nevertheless, a nice little round with a great view of Berchtesgaden from the Soleleitungsweg and, on a clear day, of the Watzmann massif.

After our morning tandem ride on the Grünstein, we spend the afternoon hunting for more prey. Actually, we primarily shop at the refrigerated counter of a Berchtesgaden supermarket. Before that, however, we take a stroll through the town, which @Wolle Teicke hasn't visited for a while and Alex hasn't visited at all.
