A particularly impressive place in Berchtesgaden is the Kirchleitn chapel above the Weinfeld. Since it was built, the chapel has become a symbol of Berchtesgaden. The chapel with the view over the Berchtesgaden market to the Watzmann opposite is one of the most photographed motifs in all of Bavaria.

A Stations Way with bronze sculptures of the Beatitudes of Berchtesgaden led up to the Kirchleiten Chapel. (If it is not closed due to a landslide, as it was in 2021). The chapel itself dates from 2008 and shows Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration.
