August 31, 2023,595 – Karwendeltal - Karwendelhaus
The mountain bike tour to the Karwendelhaus starts at the train station in Scharnitz (alternatively: parking lot in Scharnitz at the nature park information center). At the church, turn towards the Karwendel Valleys and past the nature park information center. After about 1 km after the Isar bridge, turn left towards Karwendeltal / Karwendelhaus. After a short climb, turn right …

A classic. Always beautiful and challenging in the final section. Together with Thomas and Claudia.

I'm usually rather skeptical about descriptions and reports with announcements like "most beautiful tour in the Alps" or ...
"best MTB tour ever"
But... that's pretty close 🤩😁.
One of my most beautiful mountain tours so far. The climbs are tough, but easy to ride. The backdrop leaves no room for complaints...
If you like mountains ... only recommended!

Due to lack of time, the tour was only made as far as the Karwendelhaus!

Indescribable panorama above the Karwendel Hut. There are still a few snow fields but otherwise it is easy to ride and you are completely alone except for a few skiers on bikes! Visits from chamois and marmots included.

With a lot of muscle soreness in my legs from the previous day, I ended up in Austria. Unfortunately, at the end of the long but scenic ascent, we had to find out that the Karwendelhaus was closed due to a corona fall. Nevertheless, it was fully worth it for the view.
At the end of the descent I took …
