Møns Klint

Highlight • Natural Monument

Möns Klint is without a doubt one of Denmark's greatest natural experiences.
The mighty white chalk cliffs rise dramatically from the turquoise-green sea. Down on the beach, you are constantly reminded of how small and insignificant humans are in comparison to nature.
Möns Klint is, in every way, the island's greatest attraction. A tourist destination of international renown. Mighty. Majestic. The 6 km long chalk cliff stretches along the entire east coast of Möns. To ensure that everyone can experience one of Denmark's greatest natural experiences, the chalk cliffs of Möns Klint, a 267-meter-long, wooden path was created from the GeoCenter to the Freuchens Pynt viewpoint.

Again and again there are corners on the stairs, some of which have narrow steps, for a short breather

Møns Klint

Highlight • Natural Monument

Moens Klint is very impressive - a top highlight and absolutely recommendable.
Møns Klint is a steep coast over 8 kilometers long and up to 128 meters high in the east of the island of Møn. It consists of dazzling white writing chalk, which was pressed up from the subsoil by the enormous pressure of the ice during the last ice age (Weichselian glaciation). The entire eastern part of the island of Møn thus received a higher level than the rest of the island. The counterpart to the chalk cliffs of Møn are the chalk cliffs of the island of Rügen, located 60 kilometers to the south, which were formed at the same time and in the same way.
Møns Klint owes its rugged appearance to the forces of the Baltic Sea and the different weather influences (ice, frost, rain, etc.), which have constantly changed the appearance of the coast over the last 4000 to 5000 years and up to the present day.
