It's a beautiful area where flora and fauna are protected. There are bird observation points that allow you to observe the environment without disturbing others, with raised walkways that allow you to cross marshy areas. The area is absolutely quiet and peaceful, with ample parking.

Beautiful waterfall, great for cooling off halfway up the climb

Beautiful summit, but you should bear in mind that a climb at the beginning of April is still associated with a lot of snow (up to 4 meters), which makes the climb more difficult.

Spectacular 360° view

The provincial nature reserve of Lake Idro, established in 1994 in Baitoni, preserves 15 hectares of original humid habitat, vital for rare flora and endangered fauna. This area, including the Rio Fossone, one of the shortest rivers in Italy, is a refuge for migratory birds and threatened species. Access walkways allow visitors to explore the reserve without disturbing the delicate ecosystem.

The suggestive lake of Valvestino, with its enchanting inlets and imposing overhanging rocks, offers a spectacle of rare beauty. The winding road that runs through it is a true paradise for summer motorcyclists and offers, in the remaining months of the year, the possibility of peacefully enjoying the solitude of an extraordinary landscape. Passing Lake Idro and heading towards Capovalle, the first traces of Lake Valvestino appear, captivating with the color of the water, intensely blue in summer and enveloping blue in winter. The shadows of the surrounding mountains create suggestive reflections, giving the landscape an atmosphere of extraordinary beauty. This artificial basin, regulated by the imposing Ponte Cola dam on the Toscolano stream, offers scenery that evokes the Norwegian fjords. Lake Valvestino thus becomes a place of authentic natural beauty, far from the chaos of the city, ideal for those seeking unforgettable visual and sensorial experiences.

Beautiful stretch that runs alongside the artificial lake of Valvestino. Coming from Gargnano you will find the dam wall, you go along the whole lake crossing two bridges until you reach the stream called Toscolano which feeds the lake. Halfway between the two bridges you can still see the old customs which in some periods is totally uncovered.
