This view alone justifies the path

A wonderful view of Ischia Porto, the Gulf of Naples, and the island of Capri. Highly recommended!

Spectacular place, a divine view towards the coast

On the slopes of Mount Epomeo, on the Forio side, there is a small rural village that comes to life every year on September 12 to celebrate the Holy Mother of Jesus on her name day. The churchyard of a small rock church, clearly dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is the stage for this celebration in which hundreds of Forians participate, but also many people from other municipalities on the island of Ischia.

It was a day to forget for the green island and not only for the 13 people who lost their lives in the accident (5 crew members and 8 passengers). In fact, many islanders went to the scene, with the area engulfed in flames, and cynically indulged in acts of looting, stealing valuables, money and whatever they found in their hands. We have received some truly macabre stories, one above all that tells of people who, in order to steal gold rings, went as far as cutting off fingers. This demonstrates the fact that in Ischia history is not always synonymous with events to be proud of.

Very suggestive stretch for walking

The water stone is located on the top of Monte della Guardia, 720 m, the second highest peak of Mount Epomeo.
