Monastery and Church of San Francesco

the Sorrento peninsula with its views and colors is certainly one of the most evocative places in Italy and the territory of Massa Lubrense is the symbol of this area with its glimpses of Naples, Capri and the Amalfi Coast.

A town of about 14,000 inhabitants on the Sorrento peninsula, Massa Lubrense is one of the least known but most characteristic places in the area. Historically, it is known, on the occasion of the monarchy-republic referendum of June 1946, for having recorded the highest percentage of votes in favor of the monarchy: 97.3% of the total voted monarchist.

In a hamlet of Massa Lubrense, called Termini, on a hill, a short distance from the town stands a small church, open once a year, but from which you can admire an exceptional panorama, ranging from Positano to the island of Galli, from the bay of Marina del Cantone to the Faraglioni of Capri and continuing from Vesuvius to the bay of Naples. The place is truly exceptional, but little advertised. For those on MTB you will have to face a stony slope uphill until you encounter some steps that are very difficult to do on the saddle. Absolutely a place not to be missed
