Even from the beach of Castellammare di Stabia, a town with over 60,000 inhabitants in the province of Naples, you can easily observe the top of Vesuvius. The volcano is imposing and often characterizes the skyline of these areas.

Mount Pendulum, 618 meters high, has seen more than one cross placed on its ridge. The current one was inaugurated on October 29, 2022, through a blessing and the switching on of the lighting, which makes it visible at night even from very far away.

The path starts from Aurano and goes up towards Monte San'Erasmo. The surface is largely composed of loose stone which, combined with significant slopes in some sections, makes the climb particularly difficult. At the end of the hairpin bends the path becomes dirt and decidedly easier and more pedalable. The view in some places is enchanting!
