Brixen Cathedral Square is quite large for a medieval town. As the city's ruler, the bishop was always keen to ensure the square remained undeveloped, so as not to obstruct the view of the cathedral and the adjacent bishop's palace. When the emperor passed through in the Middle Ages, he and his entourage could pitch their tents in the spacious square. Even today, processions, celebrations, and important events are held in Cathedral Square. From the Kreuzwiesenalm you have a wonderful view of the Peitlerkofel... Very nice mountain hut, which even has a sauna. The food is very tasty, and it's not for nothing that it's recommended by Gault-Millau. The camp offers a rustic place to stay overnight.

From this vantage point above Rio di Pusteria (Mühlback in German), you can enjoy beautiful dirt paths and a great view of the Pusteria Valley. If you look closely, you might even see the final stage of the journey of the Rienza torrent, which flows into the Isarco at Bressanone.
