An old, very beautiful Styrian bridge over the Simmerbach. It was also the filming location for the homeland trilogy "Heimat" by Edgar Reitz and appears in the movie "The Other Homeland" (2013).

A historically significant crossing of the Kellenbach. The ashlar stone bridge has been a listed building since December 1980. The reasoning behind it states, among other things: "The stone bridge is the most artistically significant and probably the oldest bridge not only in the Rhein-Hunsrück district, but also in the entire Hunsrück." The old postal route of the Habsburg emperors also ran over the bridge, also known as the Dutch postal route between Brussels and Innsbruck with a connection to Italy. From the mid-1520s until the 18th century, Thurn-and-Taxis post riders crossed the ford or the bridge at Gehlweiler. (Source: information board)

Schloss Gemuenden opened in 1301. It is owned and lived in by the van Salis family, so still in private family hands. It is not really open for visits, but is available for events, weddings, and such both inside and outside. In particular the gewolbe cellar is very nice, and the lovely terrace is very nice and has a great view of Gemuenden.
