Impressive city, steep streets.

It is a magnificent route that crosses the Pollino National Park: from Laino Borgo, on which the ruins of the Longobard Laino Castello stand, you climb up to Mormanno, the famous town of sweet "bocconotti"; from here we proceed in the direction of the Campotenese pass, an immense plateau located between the Pollino and Orsomarso mountains until we reach Morano Calabro, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, which offers magnificent hospitality spread across the houses in the center historic close to the Castle.

Catasta Pollino is a tourist hub of the Pollino National Park that offers services dedicated to cycle tourists: bike rental, catering, guides.

Morano Calabro, in the province of Cosenza, is one of the main centers of the Pollino National Park, and is located along the Ciclovia dei Parchi della Calabria. Its historic center is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and houses a museum dedicated to the fauna and flora of the area.

We are almost at 1600 meters and from here we have a beautiful panoramic view of Monte Timpone di Sant'Angelo, Colle della Maddalena and Monte Scaletra.

Hike in the Pollino National Park as part of the "Pollino 2022" tourist pilot project in and around Morano Calabro, a must-see town in Calabria, Italy. Spectacular views! Tip for a beer after the activity: "My Coffee" bar next to the town hall!

Visitor center and restaurant of the Pollino National Park designed by the star architect Mario Cucinella in Campotenese, definitely worth a visit. Located at the end of the cycle path of the old railway that goes up from Morano Calabro a few steps from the old Campotenese station.
