Beautiful Zille promenade on the Spree.

A detour to the Zillepromenade is worthwhile because of the charming architecture of the 1920s, the quiet atmosphere and the historic Berlin tenement houses. It offers an insight into Berlin life in times gone by and is a quiet retreat in the middle of the city. The promenade is named after the artist Heinrich Zille, whose works documented the life of the Berlin working class. Ideal for strolls and discovering Berlin history.

Beautiful place on the Rummelsburg Bay, usually very well attended.

The Zillepromenade is beautifully laid out and rides well. But be careful of the many pedestrians.

A great residential area and some great houses!

This bulge in the Spree, also known as Rummelsburg Lake, stretches over a length of 1.6 kilometers and represents a piece of Berlin's waterway history as part of the Spree-Oder waterway. While strolling along the shore, you come across hidden gems: the Kratzbruch and the Liebesinsel. Two inconspicuous islands that, however, contain a special treasure, as both are protected. They are witnesses to the rich biodiversity of this region and offer a home to animals and plants. It comes alive here on weekends when Berlin families, couples and friends explore the bay as a local recreation area. The gentle glitter of the water, the quiet lapping against the shore stones and the view across the lake convey a feeling of peace and relaxation. But alongside all this beauty, Rummelsburg Bay also has its dark side. Unfortunately, after nights of partying, relics left by partygoers are often found. A reminder of how important it is to appreciate and protect nature.
