Lake Tegel in Reinickendorf is the second largest lake in Berlin with a total area of around 450 hectares. Around Lake Tegel, city dwellers seeking relaxation can enjoy a wide range of leisure and dining options. To the north of the lake, there are playgrounds, park benches with a view of the water and a mini golf course. Small cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the recreational area invite guests to linger and have a snack. The lake can be circumnavigated on a bike tour around Lake Tegel in around 1.5 hours.

At the northern end of the Greenwich Promenade, the Sechserbrücke leads over the entrance to Tegel Harbor. The steel arch bridge, built in 1909, is officially called the Tegel Harbor Bridge. In the past, when a wooden footbridge led over the water, five pfennigs – called “sixes” in Berlin – had to be paid as bridge toll. This is where the popular name comes from. From the bridge you have a wonderful view of Lake Tegel with its islands on one side.
