A pedestrian bridge opened in 2000, connecting Nienburg's city center with the western bank of the Weser River. It was built on the site of the first Nienburg Weser Bridge. This historic pedestrian bridge connects the city center with the district on the western bank. In the 18th century, the first stone Weser bridge was built on this site as a gift from King George of England. Until the end of the 19th century, this Weser crossing was the only one in the area. When a larger bridge was built a few hundred meters downstream, the first pedestrian bridge was built here, but it was destroyed in World War II. The old station now houses the "Tasse und Teller" cafe. They serve coffee, cake, and small dishes, but don't expect large portions, and the service drops off abruptly once served. It's a real shame. Perhaps the view of the heritage railway, which departs from here every weekend between May and October, as well as on Advent weekends, makes up for it. Those interested are also welcome to visit the maintenance workshop on operating days, where additional vehicles can be viewed.

A very beautiful church

The small inland harbor is located on the Weser River, with moorings for smaller ships and boats and adjacent green spaces. The area is easily accessible via the Weser Cycle Path and offers a short, worthwhile detour to the waterfront—with views of the quiet harbor activity and the scenic riverside area.
