A little info from the internet: History: The cycle paths use former routes of the Minden district railways, whose passenger service was discontinued in the 1960s/70s.

The old railway line is scenically beautiful and it's very good for cycling.

Great bike path on the old railway line between Harrienstedt and Uchte. It's a leisurely 24km ride. Only a few intersections slow you down. The asphalt is excellent!

A pedestrian bridge opened in 2000, connecting Nienburg's city center with the western bank of the Weser River. It was built on the site of the first Nienburg Weser Bridge. This historic pedestrian bridge connects the city center with the district on the western bank. In the 18th century, the first stone Weser bridge was built on this site as a gift from King George of England. Until the end of the 19th century, this Weser crossing was the only one in the area. When a larger bridge was built a few hundred meters downstream, the first pedestrian bridge was built here, but it was destroyed in World War II. In Ovenstädt, the Weser Cycle Route runs along the old Petershagen-Glissen-Kreuzkrug-Uchte railway line. The station building in Ovenstädt now serves as a residential building. The same applies to Glissen. The old Petershagen station has long been a restaurant with a beer garden.
