Half-timbered houses as far as the eye can see. This picturesque half-timbered town was first mentioned in a document in 1025. Today, the town has a population of around 33,000 and was an important fortress town on the Weser River crossing in the Middle Ages. Lovingly restored half-timbered buildings, castle farms such as the Posthof (library) or the Fresenhof (museum), and farmer's houses and patrician houses bear witness to Nienburg's history.
