The bridge is currently not passable: Information from the train to the Lindaunisbrücke: The bridge has been closed to passers-by since March 6, 2023. In the period that follows, we dismantle the folding part and set up the temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. It is planned to complete this work in Dec. 2023. The monument protection for the 1924 bascule bridge, on which cars and trains shared a lane, was lifted. This made the bridge 99 years old. The new building is in the same place.

The herring fence is one of the landmarks of the city of Kappeln. It was built in the 15th century and is therefore over 500 years old. In Europe it is considered to be the last witness of an earlier common fishing method. Left the old fence ... right the restored fence.
