The year was 1878 when the Marienberg branch of the Ore Mountains was founded. One of the founding members, namely Gustav Loose, set up a restaurant in the former hat house "Alte Drei Brüder". This retreat soon became very popular, not least because of the Princess Marien Tower, which had been completed three years previously. Generations of hikers and day trippers have been able to enjoy a magnificent panoramic view here. The Berghaus "Dreibrüderhöhe", as it was called at the time, remained in the hands of the Loose family until 1977. When the house was managed by Gustav Loose, there was also a rarity available. You could buy and enjoy the “GuLo” (Gustav Loose) brand cigars produced in-house. The house was in the hands of Helmut Loose for over 30 years, who then sold it to the Marienberg building management company in 1977.

The Adlerstein is a 676m high elevation near the Lengefeld lime works. Station No. 87 of the Royal Saxon Triangulation is located on the summit.

"The Royal Saxon Triangulation (here with its historical name) is a national survey carried out in the years 1862 to 1890 on the territory of the Kingdom of Saxony with the simultaneous creation of a trigonometric network. The aim was to record the territory of the state in a scientifically and geodetically precise manner and to create the basis for the production of precise maps by establishing permanently marked reference points." - https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B6niglich-S%C3%A4chsische_Triangulirung From Lauschhübel, the stations Hirtstein, Pöhlberg, Lauterbacher Knochen, Saidahöhe, Schwartenberg and Grossenstein were targeted. The summit is not so easy to reach, especially since it is in a fenced area. The approach from the south or west is suitable.

The Čihadlo is an 842 m high elevation in the Czech Ore Mountains. Triangulation point from 1869. Beautiful mountain. Still popular with Czechs and Germans.

The Katzenstein is a viewing rock 90m above the valley floor of the black Pockau. Many hiking trails lead past that can also be used by bike. With around 250,000 visitors a year, the Katzenstein is the most popular observation rock in the Ore Mountains.

Rübenau’s local mountain. Not difficult to reach and with a Nagelscher column. Nice view when the weather is right.

The ways to get there are rather poor or partly not recognizable as such. There is still a lot to be done here. There is no signage at all.
