In the summer of 1886, the summit of the Adelsberg received a 20 meter high tower with a restaurant. Long before that, the court clerk Friedrich from Chemnitz had supported the project to build an observation tower on the highest elevation in the immediate vicinity of Chemnitz (509 m above sea level). The farmer was the landowner Theodor Haase from Kleinolbersdorf. "The new, beautiful and massive restoration building", it was said at the time, "lies in the middle of rich, shady coniferous trees. A well only one meter deep gives a fresh drink. The house contains a large restaurant on the ground floor, accommodating more than fifty guests. On the gable end are small apartments for summer visitors. In addition, the building contains a kitchen and an apartment for the landlord, in the lower part there is a fresh and spacious old winery."
