A fascinating aqueduct which carries the Canal du Midi over the River Orb. The canal was drained at this part in February 2025 to enable work to be carried out on the nearby ecluse/lock.

Facing a sumptuous natural setting, the Réals base is the ideal place to picnic, relax or rent a canoe. You must also admire this famous dolomite chaos, where the rock forms deep gorges. Take the cycle path again, go through a tunnel, follow the Orb then head along the vineyards towards Cazouls-lès-Béziers.

As soon as you arrive in Cessenon, head to the banks of the Orb (a 145 km river that stretches along the ramparts of Cessenon). Turn right onto Boulevard de l’Orb for 1 km. At the end of your path, take the cycle path with the sign “Base de Réals” at 2.7 km.

On my tour I crossed many canals and rivers in the area. The Canal du Midi is beautifully situated and is frequented by many ships. Here it crosses the river Orb
