Beautiful view of the Peene from the bridge

The hiking trail is more natural. In contrast, the bridges appear very solid. These are the best ways to take a look into the reed desert. In winter there is a stark contrast between golden reeds and deep blue water.

Until 2000, old prefabricated buildings still stood on the market square. By 2018, excavations had secured the foundations of the old town hall, which was located in the middle of the square. The prefabricated buildings were demolished and replaced by typical market buildings. The market square has inscriptions in the ground that reflect the history of Anklam and the Greifenbrunnen was placed in the middle of the square. Over the last 20 years, the market square has developed into a very beautiful central square!

From the bridge you have a good view, both of the Peene, the harbor and the western side of Anklam with the city skyline and St. Mary's Church. From here you can easily watch sunsets.

A fantastic habitat for fauna and flora. Migratory bird flocks, in particular, benefit from the abundance of food during their regular migrations between their breeding grounds and winter quarters. Hopefully, this piece of nature will remain intact.

Great view over the moor and its feathered inhabitants. Nice place to take a break. The benches in the covered playground could use some repairs.

Unfortunately, the further path was so overgrown that no further progress was possible.
