Interesting moor landscape

The scenery is really beautiful. The gravel path is so solid that - contrary to what other comments say - you can ride it on a racing bike if you want to take in the scenery.

The storm flood on November 4, 1995 led to the dike breach and the flooding of the drained Anklam peat bog. Those responsible decided to abandon the dike and not pump out the water again, but instead to renaturalize the bog. The previous intensive forestry use was stopped and the dying spruce trees were left in nature as ecologically valuable deadwood. The Anklamer Stadtbruch is a fabulous nature reserve. It's great that you can do it. Coming from Bugewitz, it's a long walk towards it. Beautiful view

A great area for nature observation. We had hundreds of cranes, two sea eagles, red kites, marsh harriers and much more.
