Small but beautiful village

Plastered brick building on a granite stone base from 1934/35, polygonal east end, slender segmental arched windows, square tower top with closed lantern and pointed roof. 3 bells - 1 cast iron bell 1690, 2 cast steel bells 1962, crypt-like substructure, harmonium 1976, large war memorial on the square in front of the church with name plates of the fallen embedded in the walls, slogan on the northern perimeter wall, cemetery with modern large funeral hall behind the church.

Massive and great observation tower with a wonderful view of the valleys. It is particularly beautiful to see when the flowers are in bloom.

A church in Gehren was first mentioned in 1592. But today's church is a building from the 18th century. The lower part of its eastern pediment consists of parts of a medieval fieldstone church, while the pediment consists of more modern half-timbering with brick infill. The striking, elongated spire is covered with wooden shingles. The interior is of baroque origin. Once a year, a Low German service takes place here, where both the songs and the sermon "uff flat" are recited.
