One of the landmarks of Greifswald! The bridge connects the two districts of Wieck and Eldena. It is a bascule bridge based on the Dutch model that was built at the end of the 19th century. The bridge is a technical monument and can be used free of charge by pedestrians and cyclists. Cars are only allowed to cross the bridge with a special permit (residents, business people, etc.). The bridge opens for ships when necessary - the bridge is always beautiful to look at!
