Along the Bünzau there is a beautiful forest, partly planted with beech trees. You can hike on beautiful forest paths above the Bünzau. This meanders between meadows and pastures.

In the Aukrug Nature Park, the Bünzau stands out as a natural, wild river, some with sandy shores.

A wildly romantic river course with a view from above.

The rest forest begins directly after walking between the ponds. Right at the beginning there is a small place of worship where you can rest on several benches. A sign asks you to only walk (i.e. do not push or ride bicycles). If you walk along the paths there you will pass several other, but smaller places of worship. I can only warmly recommend stopping by here.

The Bünzau is a right (northern) tributary of the Stör in Schleswig-Holstein. The river has a length of 15.7 km, the difference in level is 10 meters. It arises north of Innia from the confluence of the Buckener Au and Fuhlenau, with the Buckener Au being the longer source river. The Bünzau is a sandy lowland stream. Important tributaries are Höllenau and Bredenbek. The Bünzau was navigable until around 1870 for the barges that were common at the time. This was used to transport wood from the port of Bünz from Aukrug south to the Stör and on to the Elbe. Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%BCnzau
