The quaint building is the old service cabin of August Ganghofer, the father of the writer Ludwig Ganghofer. It represents the family's forestry background and the forest that strongly influenced Ludwig's childhood. August Ganghofer was not only the district forester in Welden, but later pursued a career as a forestry expert.

The "Cage" on the LandArt trail in Bonstetten is one of Hama Lohrmann's most compelling works. The sculpture is striking even from a purely technical standpoint: it requires no screws or nails and is held together solely by plug-in connections. As is typical for Lohrmann, its materials come entirely from the forest. At its center stands a sharpened larch trunk, which the artist interprets as a "larval stage." The cage thus becomes a metaphor for humanity: developed enough to sense possibilities, but still trapped in old patterns. At the same time, the work doesn't remain mired in pessimism. For a larva can become a butterfly – and a cage can be broken open.

In 2012, local artists created five works of art along the boundaries between the five communities connected by the Holzwinkel Cycle Path. Four of them can still be seen and admired today.

Land Art: Nature as an Art Space Land Art utilizes natural materials from the surrounding area, which are left to the forces of nature and decay. In this way, artworks merge with their environment, become part of nature, and ultimately return to it. The internationally active artist Hama Lohrmann created nine artworks in the Augsburg-Western Woods Nature Park, near Bonstetten (86456). These works are connected by the Bonstetten Land Art Trail, a 6 km circular route through hilly terrain. The trail begins and ends in the village of Bonstetten.
