Across the Weser with ferries in the city center, Vegesack, Blumenthal and Farge If you want to cross the Weser in Bremen and the north of Bremen, you will find the right ferry here: The regular ferries between Vegesack and Lemwerder, Blumenthal and Motzen and Farge and Berne are particularly suitable for commuters and motor vehicle traffic. In the Bremen city area, the Weser ferry runs between Pusdorf and Überseestadt and the Sielwall ferry runs between Osterdeich and Stadtwerder. These ferries only run on certain days of the week from spring to autumn and offer great opportunities for day trippers and quick shortcuts across the Weser, for example as part of Park & Ship during SV Werder Bremen games.

Elsfleth is a small, nice town on the Hunte. Fish is sold at the harbor on Sundays. If you want to go to the other side of the Hunte, you have to use the drawbridge about 1km further north. But this only happens on the hour.

For a small fee (1.40 euros - April 2024) you can take your bike on the ferry. The journey only takes a few minutes, but it's interesting. After that you're quickly on the road again.

The name may be derived from the Germanic word buri (settlement, residence, farmstead) and the Frisian word hove or have (church village). Burhave therefore means something like "church settlement". The name may have something to do with Burhave's former townscape, because 400 years ago a fortified church dating from the 11th century formed the town centre. All the farms were arranged around the church standing on a high mound. Bire/Byre, as Burhave was previously called, was already a central location in Butjadingen in the Middle Ages. While in earlier times the town was located more inland on the Butjadingen peninsula, over time it became a coastal town as the coastline shifted. The first market was held in Burhave in 1334. The corresponding concessions were later renewed by the rulers of Bremen and Oldenburg.

An idyllic harbor with colorful fishing boats, framed on the south side by 19th-century buildings, and offering freshly caught fish daily: that's the fishing harbor in Fedderwardersiel. It's the perfect place to feast, enjoy, and linger. Just like in the days when Fedderwardersiel was an important trading port, the fishing boats leave the small harbor daily and, weather permitting, even sail as far as the coast of Amrum to catch the best shrimp far and wide. "Granat" is what the locals call the shrimp, which are sold fresh off the boats in the harbor after the ships arrive. ...

An idyllic harbor with colorful cutters, framed on the south side by buildings from the 19th century and freshly caught fish every day: That is the cutter harbor in Fedderwardersiel. This is the right place to feast, enjoy and linger. Just like in the days when Fedderwardersiel was still an important trading port, the cutters leave the small port every day and, in good weather, even go to the coast of Amrum to catch the best shells far and wide. Garnet, that's what the people of Butjent call the shrimps that are sold fresh from the cutter after the ships have arrived in Sielhafen. https://www.butjadingen.de/Typical-Butjadingen/weltnaturerbe-wattenmeer/kutterhafen
