Parallel to the developed supply road, a hidden forest singletrack trail runs along the shore of Lake Flemhude. The rooty and winding trail is easily accessible even in summer. It has several dog bathing areas and ends at the bathing area where the lake meets the Kiel Canal. An absolutely worthwhile section.

The mini beaches here are not only ideal for swimming for dogs, but also for people from Zweibrunswick have a lot of fun here: When you swim in the slightly salty waters of the Flemhudersee estuary, you are sometimes lucky enough to see large tankers cruising right in front of you.

Gut Rosenkrantz was called Gut Schinkel until 1828. Through marriage, the estate came into the possession of the von Münchhausen family, who still run it today. In 1791, the current manor house Gut Rosenkrantz, where a moated castle was mentioned in the Middle Ages, was built. At the end of the 19th century, the estate was expanded to include an enclosed courtyard with a gatehouse with a columned hall. Today, the Gut Rosenkrantz trading company for natural products (based in Neumünster) operates organic farming here.

The "canal switch". This is the name given to a widening of the NOK so that ships can avoid each other. The expansion of the NOK will make this unnecessary. Tip: the curvy bank and the elevated position of the supply route make for great photo opportunities.

The northern bank of the canal has lush vegetation: it is exposed to sunlight from morning to evening. Many reptiles live here.

The guardhouse is no longer in use. But it is a beautiful place to take a break.

In 1895, an impressive gate was built to the manor house in the Italian Renaissance style, with a loggia flanked by columns and decorated with horse heads on the courtyard side. The tower clock of the gatehouse dates from 1683. The gatehouse contains two bells from 1531/41.
