My dear wife hiked this trail, "Eider Valley with Blue Bridge," with me on July 20, 1925. The blue bridge is the first iron structure in this area.

At the foot of the tree stands a memorial stone with the simple inscription: Peace 10 May 1871. This place serves as a historical monument and commemorates the victory of Germany (more precisely: the North German Confederation under Prussian leadership and its South German allies) against France under Emperor Napoleon III.
