Free swimming in this public lake that is also supervised by the volunteer lifeguards. Very busy in good weather.

Nice eel sandwich or something else and you get the coffee there in a big bowl. The eel smokehouse is nicely situated on a fairly busy cycle route and that is why the terrace there does good business. You can sit there well

Nice place with a nice bike path. Very crowded though. There are also toilets with running water ;-)

The origins of Buntven go back a long way, all the way to the Ice Age! When winter comes and temperatures drop far enough, the word 'ice' still applies here: the fen turns into a natural ice rink. In that case, don't forget to take your skates with you in your hiking backpack.

The 12.3 km route runs over private property. Which meant I had to look for it myself and therefore walked less. So I don't recommend...

Approximately 8 hectares of agricultural land has been transformed into a nature compensation area. The various nature plots are connected by the Kaweise Loop, which has also undergone a metamorphosis. The watercourse is given a lot of space to meander at the location of the nature plots. A drainage meadow is located on the lower plot, where water can be temporarily stored during heavy rainfall. This flow meadow will eventually replace a currently existing weir. To enable fish migration, 5 fish ladders have been constructed, 3 of which are siphon fish ladders. A swallow wall has been created in a suitable area of the Kaweise Loop. Pools have been created for amphibians, allowing the fauna to spread through the area along the watercourse. Together with nature-friendly banks and verges, an ecological connection zone has been created.

Berkendonk is not only a recreational lake where you can swim in the summer, it is also possible to walk around the lake on an unpaved path.

You can enjoy a lovely walk around the Berkendonk recreational lake. The walk can also be extended to the Bakelse bos.

In the summer you can cool off in the water here. And if you come by bike... there is a large bicycle shed. But you can also enjoy a nice walk around the lake.

The Bakelse Bos is a 115 hectare coniferous area and the ideal green lung of the city. The former municipal forest, popularly called "the Bakelse forests", is located in an area that belonged to the municipality of Bakel and Milheeze until the 1960s. Since then it has become largely enclosed between the Helmond city districts of Rijpelberg and Dierdonk. On the east side it is bordered by the Bakelse Aa valley; on the west side by the Zuid-Willemsvaart. The forest is crossed by a number of cycle paths. www.visitbrabant.com
