The Kirschbaumhütte is a small shelter located in the heart of the Palatinate Forest, right at a crossroads. A seating area inside invites you to take a short rest during your hike.

Between the Kappel and the Trifels Hut

The location is perfect as a starting point for hikes to the Orensfels and three huts, most of which are only open on weekends. Unfortunately, the parking lot is correspondingly overcrowded. The steep access road is riddled with deep potholes and ruts, but is easily manageable with SUVs and off-road vehicles. Small cars can also manage it. However, it is absolutely unsuitable for low-slung vehicles.
