약 1700명의 주민이 거주하는 장크트 마르틴은 마이카머(Maikammer) 행정 구역에 속하며, 남부 와인 루트(Südliche Weinstraße)의 팔츠 숲(Pfälzerwald) 가장자리에 직접 위치해 있습니다. 온화하고 거의 지중해성 기후 덕분에 최고급 와인뿐만 아니라 무화과, 아몬드, 밤도 재배됩니다. 수많은 와이너리와 전통적인 와인 선술집이 마을의 모습을 이루고 있습니다. 이 마을은 중세의 매력을 간직하고 있습니다. 좁은 골목길, 역사적인 목골 가옥, 장크트 마르틴 교구 교회가 분위기 있는 환경을 조성합니다.

The Old Castle is a listed half-timbered building in Sankt Martin. The two Renaissance residential buildings of the Schneider family were built by Johann Christoph Hund von Saulheim and remodeled in the Baroque style in the 18th century. The two residential buildings facing the street, with their rear outbuildings, form a square separated by the courtyard. The renovation or addition of additional outbuildings has lost the clarity of the layout, and a newer style has become intertwined with the older style. Today, the Old Castle is one of the attractions in the wine-growing village of Sankt Martin.
