Below the Markusberg you have a magnificent view of the Moselle valley and Trier.

A smaller hut, called the Weißhäuschen, probably dates back to the 17th century and initially belonged to the municipality of Pallien. In 1773 it became the property of the city of Trier and was leased. When Mayor Wilhelm von Haw acquired the lands of Weißhaus, Ottoscheuer and Mergener Grünhäuschen and created a connected complex from them, the Weißhäuschen was demolished. In 1823 it was replaced by the villa that still stands today. The Weißhaus fountain, which dates back to the time when the villa was built, was also preserved on the site. In the 1950s, it was considered putting it back into operation, but the destroyed water supply pipes were not replaced. The Weißhaus obelisk, which was erected by the Weißhaus Association in 1879 and was temporarily thought to be lost, now stands in the immediate vicinity of the Weißhaus villa. Source: Wikipedia
