Top cycle path, easy up and down

📍 Almglück Dream Loop A gentle stream accompanies you for part of the route – the Wadrillbach stream burbles peacefully through the green valley. Forest, ferns, and moist ground lie to the right and left, with the occasional patch of sunshine on the water. A quiet stretch that is pleasantly cooling and slows down the pace. 💡 Tip: Just stop, listen, and breathe – here, the journey is the destination. Ideal on warm days.

The Hermeskeil station building was built in 1889 with the opening of the Hochwald Railway and served as an important transport hub for the region. The current building dates from 1905 and is architecturally similar to Simmern station. It was constructed in the style of the period, with solid walls and an attached goods shed. During World War II, the building suffered damage, including the destruction of the central platform and the underpass. It was rebuilt in the 1950s, incorporating some design elements from that era. After passenger service ceased in 1981, the building lost its original function but remained preserved as a testament to railway history. Today, the station is closed, but the Hermeskeil Steam Locomotive Museum is located on the site, exhibiting historic locomotives and railway technology. The station building itself recalls the heyday of the railway in the region and is an important relic from the era of rail transport in Hermeskeil.

Small chapel on the service road to Grimburg. Inside is the biblical story of Jesus on the Mount of Olives. In 1930 the chapel was built by the Eiden family (Scholzen).
