From here, you have a beautiful view of Lake Baasee. Head south to the parking lot of the Baasee Inn, and then head north up the first hill.

A huge highlight for hikers. A good landmark for runners. Numerous paths and trails branch off from here. If open, you can also refill your hydration here.

Here, you can start hikes in many directions. For example, the Siebenhügelweg trail to Bad Freienwalde begins here. It's very busy on weekends, though. The Baaseeschenke is right next door.

Running down the slope is definitely more challenging than climbing it. Branches, fallen trees, narrow footholds, and slippery leaves, all at high speed, require surefootedness. In any case, it's a lot of fun to tumble down here 🤣 The path is called "Steep Path S2."

There was a charcoal kiln here from 1973 to 1990. It was opened at that time because in the GDR every business was supposed to produce consumer goods. And so was the forestry. However, not in typical charcoal kilns, as one might expect, but in old locomotive boilers. Well, that's how the charcoal kiln came about anyway. Today there are delicious cakes and other "consumer goods" here. The children also have a great playground. There is a car park. This means that the restaurant can also serve as a good start or end point for runs. There are plenty of paths leading into the forest from here.

The Bad Freienwalde fountain chapel, built in 1887 in the neo-Gothic style and extensively restored in 1993, offers a great view over the spa complex in the Brunnental. Several paths lead off from here.
