Joseph Jacob Flatau first came to attention through an article titled "A Forgotten Honorary Citizen of Buckow." Joseph J. Flatau (1812-1887), also known as Prussia's Hop King, was a councilor of commerce. In the 1860s, he worked intensively to improve hop cultivation in Buckow, benefiting 150 Buckow farmers at a time when Buckow was one of the poorest communities in Brandenburg. In January 2021, the city council voted to place a commemorative plaque at the so-called Roseneck (corner of Königsstrasse and Lindenstrasse).

Unfortunately, the church already has some obvious cracks.

The village church Garzin is the Protestant church of Garzin, a district of the municipality Garzau-Garzin in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg. The village is located in the Märkische Schweiz nature park

The listed village church of Garzau was built in the 13th century - like most churches in the region - from fieldstone. After being destroyed in the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt in 1724 and extensively restored in the early 1990s.

The Niederbarnim district, called Niederbarnim district until 1939 and Niederbarnimscher district until the 19th century, was a district in Brandenburg until 1952. The name Niederbarnim was first mentioned in 1412 and referred to a regional administrative unit from 1451 (division of Barnim into "Hohen Barnim" (Oberbarnim) and "Niederbarnim") until 1952.
