Parking is available directly at the starting point.

It's nice that the old route has been preserved thanks to the cycle path, and that the station is at least still in the right context.

The use of this hiking trail is only recommended in rain-free times. The adjacent meadow was flooded and very muddy.

A bit hidden, but really good for a rest, especially because it's nice and cool here.

The Hunsrück is more diverse than you might think. After a long stretch through the dense forest, you reach an open landscape near Zerf, which allows far-reaching views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. On the plateau above the Saar there are isolated tiny villages, in between you will find pure nature.

After a climb there is a nice place to take a break with a table and benches

The Schillinger Waldweiher is located in the immediate vicinity of the spit roast hall and is also called the spit roast lake among anglers. However, nobody has fished a spit roast here, here in the pond operated by the Schillingen/Heddert fishing club there are carp, rainbow trout, tench, sturgeon, pike and roach. Due to the attraction of the spit roast hall, there is a lot going on when the weather is nice.
