It takes a while, but then... one anthill after another, with thousands of ants in full activity. If you stand still too long, you'll have them all over your body ;) I've never seen anything like it.

This beautifully situated bench invites you to linger – with an unobstructed view of the surrounding fields. A perfect place for a short break, breakfast, or simply to take a deep breath and enjoy the peace and quiet. I paused here for a moment – the view, the early light, and the tranquility were just what I needed. It might get a bit busier here later in the day, but in the morning I was completely alone.

The entrance to the Roman-Celtic Trail Dream Loop is located at the Sternfeld barbecue hut near Osburg. A distinctive wooden arch with a trail sign marks the official starting point – ideal for a starting photo or selfie. I set out early in the morning (starting around 7:30 a.m.) and had the place completely to myself. When I returned, it was much busier – so an early start is worthwhile if you're looking for peace and quiet. 🅿️ Parking: Available directly at the barbecue hut. Alternatively, there is another small parking lot nearby if it's full.

A beautiful trail. Of the 48 loops I've hiked so far, it's among the top ten! Highlight: a real forest, tall and dense, just like I remembered from my childhood. Like another world. And endless peace. A dream.

Unfortunately, the path and the area around the hut have been destroyed by the deforestation vehicles. Good footwear is required.

Reservoir, which can be comfortably walked around on wide paths (also suitable for strollers), beautiful views along the route included as well as the opportunity to stop off at Hau's am See (it is particularly nice on the terrace directly on the lake) and pedal boat rental included.
