Megalithic structures are prehistoric structures made of large stones. This tomb was built in the Neolithic period (3000 to 1800 BC). It consists of a rectangular mound edged with boulders. During investigations in 1904, the remains of a burial chamber were found on the eastern side. In the vernacular, such systems are referred to as "giant beds". At the northern end of the tomb is a "guardian stone" weighing about 10 tons. Megalithic tombs are the oldest archaeological monuments still visible above ground in northern of Germany and important sources for research into the Stone Age culture periods. With the cultivation of wheat and barley, as well as the keeping of cattle, pigs, sheep and goats, the settlers of the Neolithic period introduced the rural economy and way of life in today's Mecklenburg. This also included new techniques such as the manufacture of clay vessels or the grinding and piercing of stone tools. At the beginning of the 19th century, the district of Kritzow still housed several dozen megalithic tombs. With the exception of this bed of giants, they all fell victim to the rock crushers. The hewn stones were used in the construction of the road, but especially in 1340/41 in the construction of the Paulsdamm across Lake Schwerin. Source: information board at the grave

The forest cemetery near the Mecklenburg town of Kritzow is in the municipality of Langen Brütz in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim. The mausoleum in the cemetery for the son of the Kritzow landowning family Hansen, who died early, was laid out in 1925. The immediate vicinity was also used for burials in the years that followed. The forest cemetery with field stone wall and mausoleum is on the monument list of the district. The cemetery is about 900 meters east-northeast of the Kritzow manor house on the eastern slope of the Uhuberg in a wooded area. Unpaved forest paths lead to it, but they can also be used by bike. The mausoleum was built by the landowning family Kritzows in 1925 for their only son W. F. A. Hansen (1896-1925), who died young. The estate, which had belonged to the Bülow family for a long time, was acquired by the Hansen family in 1924. The mausoleum was initially surrounded by a simple fence. In April 1945 fallen Wehrmacht soldiers were buried in front of the mausoleum on the Kritzow corridor. The inhabitants of the village continued to use the site as a cemetery, which they surrounded with a wall of hewn fieldstone. The gravestones bear the names of many families who fled at the end of the Second World War and came from the regions of Pomerania and East Prussia. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waldfriedhof_(Kritzow)
