Bridge over the lake between lower and upper Ostorfer Lake

Nice rest area with table, benches and shelter right on the lake shore.

Start in the southeastern district of Neumühle and enjoy the peaceful lakeside walk, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The shoreline offers varied, mostly wooded and sometimes steep sections, especially on the northern shore in the Friedrichsthal Forest.

When the subtle lighting of the bridge structure reflects in the water of Ostdorfer Lake at dusk, its elegant curve comes into its own. In 2021, the new, impressive cycle bridge between the two peninsulas of Krösnitz and Dwang was officially inaugurated. The steel structure has a total length of 92 meters. The bridge completes the 1.2-kilometer-long new cycle path from southern Dwang to the Krösnitz peninsula. "The nature-oriented tourist cycle route runs on municipal land directly along the shores of Lake Ostorf and Lake Faulen. With unobstructed views of both lakes and the city skyline, it offers a strong attraction for cyclists and pedestrians. There are no trash cans, perhaps for the better. Besides the covered rest area, there are numerous benches nearby if it's occupied.

There's a bench relatively close to the shore here. A better view and a proper resting place can be found about 400 meters east of here.
