Great buildings highly recommended

The Protestant church in the Niedereisenbach district was built in 1336. On the eastern side is the Romanesque choir tower, whose bell tower presumably dates from a more recent period. In 1964, a stair tower was built next to the choir tower, leading to the bell tower. Shortly afterwards, between 1976 and 1978, the originally flat ceiling in the interior was replaced with a stepped wooden ceiling. Between the nave and the choir, there is a pointed arch that leads into two rectangular pillars. The Protestant church, built on a high plateau, originally had an annex, the so-called St. Michael's Chapel. This was converted into a small school building in 1777 and demolished in 1840. In 1694, a fire damaged the church roof, leading to the renovation of the older nave in 1698/1699. The old west tower and the five-sided chancel were preserved. The church itself was built in 1880/1881 according to plans by the royal building official Max Siebert from Speyer in the round-arch style.
