A detour is worthwhile

A very clean rest area with shelter. Located in the immediate vicinity of the hikers' parking lot. The cycle path from Waldköinigen to Hinterweiler also runs along here.

Chapel on the Mühlenberg The mountain chapel was built in 1949/50 at the suggestion of Father Calsing on the border of the three parish villages of Dockweiler, Dreis, and Betteldorf. It was intended as a collective expression of gratitude for the fact that the parish had been spared extensive war damage. Many citizens contributed to the chapel's construction. The municipalities of Dockweiler and Dreis supplied the wood, and many other citizens contributed to the chapel's construction. On July 2, 1950, the chapel was consecrated by Father Calsing in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows. From the chapel, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Dockweiler, extending to Dreis and Brück.

The old railway line, which is no longer in use, runs over this tunnel.

In 1979, the plan was born to create a reservoir as a place of rest and relaxation with the opportunity to celebrate. Benches also invite hikers and cyclists to take a rest. For more information about the reservoir, see https://dreis-brueck.de/project/der-stausee/

Currently (2025) there is a large sign at the spring saying that the water is not drinkable. It's a shame, we were able to taste it on our last visit...
