According to Roman coin finds discovered in the 1970s, Heidelsburg Castle was built at the latest between the 2nd century AD (Emperor Hadrian) and 351 AD (Germanic invasions). The bridge itself is unspectacular. But the view of the Rodalbe is interesting. The riverbed is sandy here and the shallow current creates wave-like sand structures in the riverbed.
