ブルク・グレーフェンシュタインの城跡の北にある多峰性のウィンスカート山脈は、ヨハンニスクロイツ方面へと続く変化に富んだ小道、広大な眺め、そして西側の頂上にある真のハイライトを備えています。標高521メートルのフォーダラー・ウィンスカートコプフからは、そびえ立つウィンスカート岩がメルツァルベン、城跡、そしてプファルツァーヴァルトの広大な森の素晴らしい眺めを開きます。これは「プファルツァー・ヴァルトパット」を経由して簡単にアクセスできます。

There are still remains of walls and stairs at the site of this highlight. The (current) red and white radio mast is located about 100 m further west.

The peak is only interesting because of its military past

"In 1907, the Palatinate Forest poet Fritz Claus had the idea of erecting a square tower in honor of the then Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria (1821-1912). Gottfriedsruh represents the summit of the Rothenberg at 420 m above sea level. From there you have a wonderful view over the Palatinate Forest to the Trifels (which I did not see because I was fascinated by the lizards.)

Great view of the high treetops in the area, but also somewhat limited visibility. Under King Max I Josef, “Bavaria (including today’s Palatinate) was surveyed and mapped between 1808 and 1853.” Therefore, the Eschkopf was built in 1902 “for the purposes of land surveying.” In Napoleon’s time, there was a wooden tower here that was used for telegraphic message transmission.
