Ideal rest area at Rother Kopf

There's a sign on the door saying "Restaurant for hotel guests only," but we still asked if we, as hikers, could get a coffee. A pleasant surprise: Very friendly staff, good coffee, and delicious, freshly baked waffles we could enjoy on the terrace. And our dog wasn't forgotten either, and he got fresh water from a clean, polished bowl!

The old cross stands somewhat hidden here. An information board explains it.

Here you can get a good idea of how difficult it must have been to carve the millstones out of the rock.

From here starts a Way of the Cross to the Marienkapelle Wahlhausen. The bronze sculptures on the wayside shrines were created around 1980 by the Adenau artist Gering.
