The sailing regattas took place here in the Kiel Fjord during the 11th Olympic Games in 1936. Today, the Olympic rings on a wall serve as a reminder of this.

After the bridge (middle of Alter Kirchweg), the north-south section of the path was overgrown at the end of August 2025, making cycling largely impossible (see photos). There were thorns in one spot. Once the undergrowth is trimmed back, everything will be fine again. Nice MTB trail.
