Idyllic spot on the Stör (dead end), but is closed off because the crossing over the very old barrier is not safe.

The river is 15.7 km long and has a height difference of 10 meters. It originates north of Aukrug-Innien from the confluence of the Buckener Au and Fuhlenau, with the Buckener Au being the longer source. The Bünzau is a sand-covered lowland stream.[1] Important tributaries are the Höllenau and Bredenbek. The Bünzau was navigable for the barges common at the time until around 1870. This was used to transport timber from Aukrug south to the Stör and further to the Elbe. In 2005, traces of a beaver were first found in the Bünzau.

This rest area with table and benches, parking and bicycle racks is located directly at the canoe entry and exit of the Stör in Willenscharren. The historic castle rampart is also nearby.

Here the street "Am Wallberg" crosses the Stör with a bridge. Here there is a canoe landing with 🅿️, seating with table & bike rack, as well as the historic castle rampart.

The Lübeck Trade was an important trade route in the Middle Ages that connected the cities of Lübeck and Hamburg. Several memorial stones along this route commemorate its historical importance.

At 76.8 meters, the Boxberg is not the highest elevation in the Aukrug Nature Park, but it is one of the few moraine peaks in central Holstein that deserves the name "mountain." The Itzespitze, at 83.4 meters, is even higher than the Boxberg. Today, only a few beech trees grow on the grounds of the Boxberg recreational forest. Along the Bünzau there is a beautiful forest, partly planted with beech trees. You can hike on beautiful forest paths above the Bünzau. This meanders between meadows and pastures.
