The mix of traditional sailing ships, tourists, and locals is worthwhile. They also have ice cream here in the summer :-)

Great empty and mostly well-paved roads in the area

After the bridge (middle of Alter Kirchweg), the north-south section of the path was overgrown at the end of August 2025, making cycling largely impossible (see photos). There were thorns in one spot. Once the undergrowth is trimmed back, everything will be fine again. Nice MTB trail.

The path is a bit overgrown but still quite easy to recognize.

After the last storm, cycling is no longer recommended

The trail is very narrow in places and extremely close to the edge. The warning signs "Danger of death from falling" are there for a reason.
