It is definitely worth a detour here. Some small restaurants with delicious food and drinks. Great view of the fjord directly at the lock entrance and exit to the NOK. Always quite crowded in spring, summer and autumn when the weather is good. Better to park or push the bike. There are also various storage options for bicycles on the west side of the Tiessenkai.

The Tiessenkai, named after the ship chandler Hermann Tiessen, is one of the most beautiful maritime corners of Kiel. The quay is usually lined with traditional sailing ships. Today the "Schiffercafé" is located in the former rooms of the ship supplier - the historical flair of the office building has remained.
