Beautiful trail with an iconic name. Possible with a road bike, but better with a gravel bike or mountain bike.

Windmill from 1860 One of the three windmills within the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park is located in Ascheberg-Langenrade. The windmill named "Sventana" was built in 1860 in Kleinmühlen near Plön. The mill has only been standing in Ascheberg since 1890 as a replacement for a predecessor that had burned down. In 1982, three mill-loving couples decided to get the mill working again. After considerable financial and laborious effort, the single-storey gallery mill has been wind-capable and fully functional again since 1990. The renovation of the mill's wings was financially supported by state funds for nature parks, among other things. The mill and its keepers received the German Prize for Monument Protection in 2012. Since 2019, the Sventana mill has even been recognized as an intangible UNESCO World Heritage Site. The condition for this is that the mill actively produces “marketable flour” and does not just function as a museum. The mill can now grind grain in three different ways

Klein Barkau is a municipality in the Barkauer Land region in the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein. The municipality's landmark is the mill on the connecting road to Boksee.

From the bridge you have a great view over the Eider valley and the Eider.

The 15.2 hectare Hammer game reserve is home to Dexter cattle, mouflon, red deer, grey moorland sheep and fallow deer, among others. It is divided into four landscape-different areas, including a lean grassland that is of particular importance for biotope and species protection and is home to rare plant species on the Red List.

Wonderful idyll at the bicycle bridge. It's definitely worth a stop.
